A loan from ING and the EIB to finance sustainable investment by small and medium-sized enterprises in the Benelux countries
ING and the European Investment Bank (EIB) announce a new financing programme to support SMEs in Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands in their sustainable investments. This programme has a total budget of €300 million, of which €20 million has been allocated to ING in Luxembourg. The aim of this scheme is to stimulate investment in sustainable projects and/or assets through advantageous low interest rates.

Aware that climate change has an adverse impact on the planet, people and businesses, ING Luxembourg is highly interested in sustainable projects. As a financial institution, ING has a role to play in helping its customers make a smooth ecological transition, by raising their awareness of sustainable projects and offering them attractive financing solutions.

Terms and conditions of the loan
This is not the first time that the EIB and ING have worked together to support SMEs. This new programme is in line with their shared commitment to promoting sustainable investment. Eligible companies will be able to benefit from a reduced interest rate, provided they meet the eligibility conditions set by the EIB.
These conditions only apply to sustainable projects in Luxembourg, such as investments in energy efficiency, organic products, low-carbon transport, sustainable agriculture, water supply and sanitation or any other climate-friendly project.
Interested companies can take out an investment loan or enter into a leasing contract for a sustainable investment, for a minimum amount of €125,000 and in proportion to the total amount of the budget available and in line with the criteria set by the EIB. Eligibility for the scheme entitles you to a 0.60% reduction on the standard interest rate for the loan and/or leasing contract to be taken out. Each application will be assessed individually.
