Full house for the first edition of the Luxembourg Pride Run

On 23 May, ING and the City of Luxembourg were thrilled to announce they were teaming up to organise the first Luxembourg Pride Run, a charity footrace in support of the LGBTIQ+ community. This sports event, where participants can choose to run either 5 km or 10 km, will be held on Wednesday, 5 July 2023. The starting gun will go off at 19:00 at the Cité Judiciaire.

The Luxembourg Pride Run is an important milestone in the promotion of diversity and inclusion in Luxembourg. With over 1,500 runners registered, the race is now full. More than 40 businesses and associations will take part in this great event – a testament to the immense support and enthusiasm of people from Luxembourg and further afield for this cause.

Sports being a key medium for the furthering of equal rights and mutual understanding, the funds raised through the registration fees for the Luxembourg Pride Run will be donated in full to a project that promotes the integration of LGBTIQ+ people in sports. Sports clubs, coaches and trainers will be given access to workshops, training and instructional materials.

This initiative is being carried out jointly by the City of Luxembourg and ING, in collaboration with Rosa Lëtzebuerg, the Centre LGBTIQ+ CIGALE and IMS. The non-profit organisation Urban Trail de Luxembourg ASBL, a leader in organising sports events held in Luxembourg, is handling the technical aspects of the race.

ING and the City of Luxembourg invite everyone to take part in this festive event – either as runner or spectator – to celebrate diversity, inclusion and pride. This landmark event will help strengthen our collective dedication to creating a society that is open and egalitarian, where everyone enjoys the respect they deserve and is celebrated for their individuality.
